This spectacular limited edition giclee print was created in Detroit, from an original piece painted in 2020 during the Mint Creative Summer Jobs program, by Alexis Bagley. It shows a young Aretha Franklin, who grew up in Detroit singing in church choirs and recording gospel music.
The limited edition print is 11 inches by 14 inches, unframed, on high quality archival paper. Your purchase supports all of Mint’s youth development programs.
Known as the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin sang many hit songs including RESPECT and “Do Right Woman” and “Freeway of Love.” She was the this piece on Achievement.org” rel=”noopener” target=”_blank”>first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in 1985.
The Aretha Franklin Mint Print is the second in our series of Influential Women, all who hail from Michigan. The first, out in 2019, is civil rights icon Rosa Parks.
